Let people enjoy every space. That is our goal.

What we do is versatile: interior projects, our interior collection, brand strategy development to creating content. Above all, we are concept creators. A strong idea is the starting point for any project

Nathalie van Egmond

Founder | Managing Director

What is your role within Design Studio Nu?
My role is difficult to summarize in a few words. I’m sort of jack of all trades. In practice this means that I organize many things in various fields. Therefore no day is the same: sending the orders, administrate, brainstorming with Tessa for projects to creating a blog post.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Perhaps influenced by my background as a social psychologist, I think the social media part is fun to do. Coming into contact with people all over the world really appeals to me. I also get lots of energy from the flow that Tessa and I have when we work together on projects. We have little words to understand each other and complement each other perfectly.

What plans do you have for Design Studio Nu?
Every year we take a break to close us off from the daily chaos. Then Tessa and I look back on the things we have done and we look forward. In the short term, the further design of the new atelier in the center of Delft. We literally and figuratively have room for creative collaborations. There are many opportunities there for Design Studio Nu and we will explore those further.

Tessa Weerdenburg

Founder | Creative Director

What is your role within Design Studio Nu?
I supervise the projects. For that I listen carefully to the customer to find out what their needs are. Then I create a creative solution that is both beautiful and functional. I am the contact for the clients and support them in the steps required to bring the design to realization.

How do you get a new idea or concept for a project or product? What is your creative process?
An idea for a product is often a result from our needs and is something that arises from the many conversations Nathalie and I have. Sometimes we are looking for a good solution for a while for our own house but we can not find it. By designing itself and developing it we create a product that not only meets our needs but also those of others.

What inspires you in your work?
In my work I meet nice people who entrust us with their home or office. We are part of the big changes in their lives and the joy it brings when the results become visible. The way people live and work is an inspiration. Sometimes minor modifications will let a space feel a totally different. Even those little things are particularly inspiring.

May we design your new home or workspace?
