Although &#8230; maybe we do a bit too well because with start of \u00a0the change, our internal critic immediately pops up in our mind and tell us all sorts of strict instructions. Less sugar soon became never eating sugar again. And more exercising resulted in feeling guilty when we sat on the couch for an evening. Maybe you recognize this? The intention to contribute to a more sustainable life can therefore feel like a real challenge if you really want to do it right. But with getting older we realized that also small steps can lead to a big change. So today we share with you the small things we do to contribute to an eco-friendly home. And who knows, it might lower the threshold for you to do some of those things as well. And together we will make the world a bit more beautiful.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bring your own bags with doing grocery shopping and shopping in general. It is a simple habit to learn and is even encouraged in stores. We are a big fan of those typical net bags. They are handy because they are small and light to carry but are extremely stretchable so there is a lot space for stuff. We love ecru but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hetfransewarenhuis.nl\/tassen-en-hoedjes\/nettasjes\/\">here<\/a> you can find them in all kinds of colors.<\/li>\n<li>In line with this: striving for less packaging material. Packaging material is sometimes just unnecessary and it is quite fun to challenge yourself to use less material or a different way of packaging. Easy examples are: using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bag-again.nl\/product-categorie\/fruit-vegetable-bags\/?v=796834e7a283\">vegetables and fruit nets<\/a>, cotton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bag-again.nl\/product\/bag-again\/?v=796834e7a283\">bread bags<\/a> and special <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bag-again.nl\/product\/bees-wrap-large-33x35-cm\/?v=796834e7a283\">beeswax wraps<\/a>. You can take this wraps to the store and have a piece of cheese packaged. This is also possible at the supermarket if you want.<\/li>\n<li>If you are a bit more used to avoiding plastic, you can also look around your house in a critical way and check out whether you can replace plastic tools with a variant of wood or bamboo. We did this for example with the <a href=\"https:\/\/thebamandboo.com\">toothbrushes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dille-kamille.nl\/nl\/shop\/c\/501\/a\/2803\/afwasborstel-met-steel-beukenhout-en-paardenhaar-24-cm\/\">dishwashing brushes<\/a>. Really a small effort, but since you use a lot of them in a lifetime, it is still a step in the right direction.<\/li>\n<li>Children in primary schools are doing pretty well. They take their drinks with them in drinking cups and almost everyone brings their lunch in a bread box. But as soon as they go to secondary school, this habit begins to blur and as adults we often opt for convenience. A coffee to go in your own cup is easy, just as water in a reusable water bottle and fresh juice or smoothie can be poured into a glass bottle. It requires some preparation but this can quickly become a habit if you have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bag-again.nl\/product-categorie\/to-go-onderweg\/?v=796834e7a283\">the right stuff<\/a> in your home and bag.<\/li>\n<li>The nice thing about these small changes is that you see the results in your trash can. No more huge bags of waste but smaller containers with less waste.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brabantia.com\/nl\/bo\/\"> A trash can with multiple trays<\/a> makes separation even easier. And if something is easy to do, it&#8217;s better to keep it going.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are many people who give us inspiration, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/monduurzamekinderwinkel\/\">Mon Sustainable Children&#8217;s Shop<\/a>. They sell durable and the most beautiful children&#8217;s stuff. Also nice to follow for inspiration: Kyra from Kyra&#8217;s Kitchen regularly gives zero waste tips on her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kyraskitchen\/\">Instagram Stories<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We are curious if you have any tips for us that work well for you to bring sustainability into your home or people who inspire you to live a more sustainable life.
